Lyrics:
Deep within each heart
There lies a magic spark
That lights the fire of our imagination
And since the dawn of man
The strenght of just "I can!"
Has brought together people of all nations
There’s nothing ordinary
In the living of each day
There’s a special part
Every one of us will play
Feel the flame forever burn
Teaching lessons we must learn
To bring us closer to the power of the dream
As the world gives us its best
To stand apart from all the rest
It is the power of the dream that brings us here
Your mind will take you far
The rest is just pure heart
You’ll find your fate is all your own creation
Every boy and girl
As they come into this world
They bring the gift of hope and inspiration
Feel the flame forever burn
Teaching lessons we must learn
To bring us closer to the power of the dream
The world unites in hope and peace
We pray that it will always be
It is the power of the dream that brings us here
There’s so much strength in all of us
Every woman child and man
It’s the moment that you think you can’t
You’ll discover that you can
Feel the flame forever burn
Teaching lessons we must learn
To bring us closer to the power of the dream
The world unites in hope and peace
We pray that it will always be
It is the power of the dream that brings us here
Feel the flame forever burn
Teaching lessons we must learn
To bring us closer to the power of the dream
The world unites in hope and peace
We pray that it will always be
It is the power of the dream that brings us here
The power of the dream
The faith in things unseen
The courage to embrace your fear
No matter where you are
To reach for your own star
To realize the power of the dream

Update time!! been pretty occupied n busy lately so here's a little update on the happenings for the past week.
let's start from erm.. erm.. erm.. last saturday would be nice hehe..went to watch the much-awaited movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sick(oops should be Sith) haha.. i'm not much of a star wars fan but action packed movies like this is definitely worth my money to watch in a cinema with a superb 3D sound system n a BIG screen. met up with a few friends: 2 who didn't know i was coming (they were the one who bought the tix so when i reach there i've to go queue up again grrr), 1 sleepy head who only woke up when we called him 15min before the start of show, n the blur case guy who told me the wrong person to inform to book my tix on the day before (he directed me to the sleepy head *faint* haha) anyway all is well after Q'ing a few meters for my ticket.. was happy tat i got the correct seat number next to them.. but then stupid stupid me just realised tat i'm in a DIFFERENT screening!! almost fainted then when i found out tat they're in cinema 8 n i'm in cinema 9.. since when did they have two simultaneous screening of the same movie?? but all is not lost since i'm not a total idiot to go n watch alone so i suggested tat we ALL hop into cinema 9 since it's not likely to be packed as 8 is the fully packed one. then we also went in late bcos of the sleepy head and so we get to choose where to sit in cinema 9 without ppl coming to bug us n tell us it's their place hehe. we took an empty middle row :)
the movie was GREAT with very good visual effects n CGI. the light sabers battle was all very nice but they didn't have any parts for jar jar binks to make us laugh. thumbs up for star wars :) after tat was lunch n then went on to some gaming hehe. the comps was pretty sucky but we can't ask for much since it only charges RM1/hour (a very rare price to be found nowadays). played CS n then on to WAR!! CS wasn't tat good(i'm lousy :P) but then war was superb wahahaha.. played 2v3 in DotA with me n the blur guy on one team n the other 3 on the opposing team. didn't want to underestimate them since i haven't played with them before so i chose my usual "bounty hunter" for some fun.. everything from then on is OWNING!! n also "Beyond GODLIKE!" wahaha i sure collected alot of bounty. think this my 1st time with a score of 19-0 hehe :)
after 'killing' each other we decided to head on to the MBA (Malaysian Buddhist Association) to pray since the next day is Wesak Day. paid homage to the Buddha n did some donation there. saw ppl preparing the float for the procession on the next day. also saw the usual sight of ppl praying with incense sticks.. something i will consider as a malpractice.. i think i'll touch on this further in a new post.
so after tat is back to home after a long n tiring day :)

Losing touch
looks like i've been online more than i thought i would from back home here in penang. guess i've been too used to being online all the time while in sg tat i just can't get myself away from a computer for too long. actually i've not been so stuck to my comp here cos this comp doesn't allow me to WAR!! haha i miss those time of WAR but safe to say i'm NOT addicted yet unlike some ppl i know hehe.
anyway let's start on wat i want to say abt the title of this post "Losing touch".. since i came back to penang last week i've been very glad tat ppl around me r back into table tennis.. i remember writing a post during the last hols tat i've lost my table tennis buddies here but looks like now it's a very diff story.. been playing quite alot since i came back (think this week alone i've played more than i did for the past 5 months in s'pore) - from this fact alone it's enough to justify my "lost of touch" SO much. know of any coach who loses to his very own students? well if u know me, your answer to tat question will be YES! n wat's worse.. my students r just primary school kids!!
quite dissapointed with myself but i'm putting the blame on my bat hehe.. the rubber on one side of my bat (my backhand-side) is 'dead'.. in simple terms, the surface of tat rubber has dried out, hardened and worst of all, became smooth. have to change it soon before i start looking more like an idiot trying to do my 'stunts' in table tennis. though my bat is at fault, i can't deny tat my skill now is way below tat of 3 years ago in form 5.. tat was my peak so far but hopefully i can brush it up soon with a new rubber n better opponents :) however one thing i notice is tat i've lost the 'feel' of my bat since i first changed my rubber 3 years ago.. it seems tat i can't find a rubber tat fully blends with my style which was formed with the old rubbers.. i've changed 3 rubbers so far n each time my play style will be tweaked abit to suit tat rubber but things just dun go very well.. now i'm thinking hard of wat rubber to try next n hopefully it won't cost me a bomb.. anyway i've also thought of retiring from table tennis n move on to other sports, perhaps tennis n squash but so far i still can't find buddies to join me. anyone interested? do let me know :)

A Tribute to Mothers
I know this comes abit late but too bad i didn't have the time until now to settle down for some time on my comp to think and write a meaningful post for Mother's Day. Well it's better late than never :)
We all know that there are always critic on having days like Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine'sday and so on. There are always ppl saying tat these days are there just for some businesses to earn a windfall once a year selling flowers, soft toys, jewellery and etc. Ppl say we should cherish this special day everyday instead of on just a single day and bla bla bla.. Yes wat they say is indeed very true but tat's beside the point on having these special days. We as humans are very forgetful by nature and we take things for granted more than we ever notice by putting aside important things of life as little and petty things. Moreover we are now living at a time when we are in the rat race for material wealth every single day. The phrase "no time" comes to mind all the time.
Ppl can easily say things like "we need to cherish our loved ones everyday" but to wat extent can they practise wat they preach in their everyday life? Let's just ask ourself a few questions: How many of us take the effort to say a simple word as "thank you" to our mother when she makes our breakfast, lunch or dinner? How often do we buy gifts for our brothers, sisters n parents? or how often do we get a moment to sit with our parents or siblings to have a heart-to-heart talk n tell them wat they mean to us in our life? The questions we can ask ourself is never ending.. sometimes do u even wonder how well u treat others compared to how u treat your own family members? try comparing how often u argue with your parents at home compared to with ppl outside.. how often do we thank our father for giving us a lift by car compared to a fren who gave us a lift? ever notice how we are able to spend some time doin charity to help clean a temple, old-folks home or an orphanage but we can't make some time to help clean our own house? all these things look simple and petty to us isn't it, but is this the way we should 'cherish' our loved ones everyday?
Now do u c why we need special days like Mother's day to remind us to take a moment off from our hectic work life and spend sometime doin something meaningful to cherish our mother and our loved ones because on normal days we tend to forget to do so. It is on this very special day tat ppl take the effort to honour and pay tribute to this normal but yet very special person whom we call our MOTHER. Today i take this opportunity to cherish and honour my own mother as well as all the other mothers in the world who have embraced MOTHERHOOD with a brave, passionate, caring and loving heart to care for their little wonders of the world. I thank you deep from my sincere heart for the hand tat wiped my tears, fed me, guide me, carried me when i was little, held me strong when i was weak, tend my wounds and also beat me for the wrongs i did. For the smile tat brightens up my day n tells me everything was fine n things will be alright when things look down. Never in my life can i fully repay the debts i owe u but i'll do my best.
Besides Mother's day i would also like to mention another special day for us to honour our parents in our hearts especially our mother.. this very special day is our very own BIRTHDAY.. i've heard of mainly 2 ways ppl define birthdays - the day we grow one year older n wiser n bla bla or the more negative view of one year nearer to our grave. but it is from my respectable spiritual advisor tat i learn of the another meaning of our birthday. it is meant to be a day when we cherish n thank our mother for enduring the greatest physical pain of her life on this day to give birth to us with tears of joy. not only did she go through so much pain but also when a mother gives birth, she puts her life on risk for the sake of giving life to us.. i wish to share this thought with ppl who reads my blog because i find true meaning in it.

Home sweet home
YEAH finally manage to get myself logged into the net.. my sis comp spoiled so i'll have to settle for my this century old comp.. things sure feel weird to go back in technology... looking at this 15" monitor(it seems much smaller), a rather old n dusty keyboard, ball mouse n etc haha.. so i won't be online much from back at home :(
anyway, yeah i'm finally back at home!! home sweet home as most ppl will put it :) goin round the city n places in car today since i got back sure was kinda interesting.. alot of things have changed since i last saw it.. new buildings and shops here n there, some places are gone either torn down or replaced by new development.. while noting all this changes, something stuck my mind... i'm getting old!! haha... i've seen so many things change in penang itself.. my schools, coffee shops, places i've stayed, places i used to hang out n even the cemetery.. i know u ppl will go "huh?cemetery??" haha but yeah i noted this change bcos where i live is surrounded by cemeteries - one of the largest in penang actually. it may sound creepy but nah it's nothing once u get used to it but of cos i'm not used to walking in cemetery when the sky is dark... there maybe some stories abt this place but nope i've not bumped into any 'incidents' yet.. hopefully i won't
anyway away from the creepy talk of cemetery... lets talk abt my trip back last nite.. actually yesterday was quite horrible.. at first, abt an hour before i left my hall, there was a freaking power failure.. y of all times man but lucky for me i've done my packing early :) n the only thing i didn't do at tat moment is take my bath... didn't plan to bathe in the dark but guess i'll have to if the power didn't come back soon enuf.. well i'm lucky again hehe :)
then after tat i realised tat my bag was quite heavy haha but no more time so i'll just have to lug it all the way to the NTU bus stop then switch bus at boon lay then to the bus company n then finally to my coach.. then found out my seat was quite 'special'.. had the 2nd last single seater n i dunno y they made the last 2 rows higher level than the front.. everything was fine until it was time to sleep.. realised tat sitting at a higher level means i'll be exposed to the lights of cars of the opposite direction.. had the worse sleep ever so far in my in travelling on a coach :(
tats all for now. to those in s'pore - c ya next sem

Wat i've been doin lately
well a description of my typical day for the past few days here:
it usually starts at 10am when my phone alarm goes *tit* *tit* *tit* for some time before my hands starts searching for it with eyes still closed to "shut it up" hehe
then the next thing is to push or press a favourite button of mine.. my PC's start button wohoo!
brush my teeth while waiting for it to load n sometimes get a cup of milo (minum milo jadi sihat dan kuat haha) as well
do some usual net surfing in the morning to check for mails n updates and by the time i finish(sometimes haven't finish) it's time for LUNCH
after lunch i'll either continue with my comp or get updates the old fashion way(newspaper).. tat is IF the newspaper have not been STOLEN(some jack-ass is always stealing newspaper, to wipe his ass i guess)
then for the last 2 days it's busy packing n cleaning up my room.. just finished this part for today n manage to settledown now to do abit more of online stuff (reading blogs).. today has been the worse day so far of cleaning up.. so much dust in my room tat i'm sneezing like a person with a running-nose.. so much for not cleaning my room more frequent :(
oh ya then today i got a new game from my fren.. saw him playing n it looked quite interesting so i borrowed his cd to install.. wasn't tat great but wat to do, i'm bored of CS n war.. last nite OWNED my fren big time in war wahaha.. it's so funny to c ppl's reaction when they get OWNED but then again who likes to lose haha.. guess i shouldn't bully ppl so much but losing is part of learning man.. everybody starts from being a nOOb but not everyone becomes 3L33t
anyway tat aside, i was reading through my frens' blogs just now.. lots of stagnant blogs but one of them was having a Blogging spree.. really surprised me :O ,then read one encouraging post and the usual 'wat-happened-today' posts
well tats all for now n it's time for dinner :)

In Honour of a great man
for the past few days, the news n media here has been filled with the stories of Singapore's former president Dr. Wee Kim Wee. after i finally got a hold of today's newspaper, it sure took me some time to read 4 to 5 pages of articles on him. just a few days back i was telling my fren my opinion of how Presidents and Kings are only 'puppets' as political figures seeing that the true person in power is the Prime Minister. well after my readings today I feel rather foolish of my previous opinion n judgement. now i understand wat makes some ppl so special to be the People's President.
I personally do not know him or have met him before and i've not even been to singapore at the time when he was the President but the overwhelming amount of stories, comments and heart-felt gratitude of the public to him clearly earns my respect for him as a great man. to simply put it he is a simple man with one of the greatest and rarest value of a human being - humility. simple in his ways, he never puts himself above others and sees himself equal as all others around him even when he was the President. truely rare indeed is a leader who does not seek formality in dealing with others.
i can go on n write out the 4 to 5 pages but i guess it'll be better for me to leave it to you to read the news for yourself else i get sued for copyright issues by the Straits Times hehe. i dun have a direct link so anyone with interest can go make a search for it. Salutations to a Great Man!

Do we even have time to work?
I found this rather interesting piece of story. Enjoy!
After 2 years of selfless service, a man realized
that he has not been promoted,
no transfer, no salary increase no commendation
and that the company is not doing any thing
about it. So he decided to walk up to his manager
one morning and after exchanging greetings,
he told his manager his observation.
The boss looked at him, laughed and asked him to
sit down saying; My friend, you
have not worked here for even one day. The man
was surprised to hear this, but the
manager went on to explain.
Manager:- How many days are there in a year?
Man:- 365 days and some times 366
Manager:- how many hours make up a day?
Man:- 24 hours
Manager:- How long do you work in a day?
Man:- 8am to 4pm. i.e. 8 hours a day.
Manager:- So, what fraction of the day do you work
in hours?
Man:- (He did some arithmetic and said 8/24 hours
i.e. 1/3(one third)
Manager:- That is nice of you! What is one-third of
366 days?
Man:- 122 (1/3 x 366days)
Manager:- Do you come to work on weekends?
Man:- No sir
Manager:- How many days are there in a year that
are weekends?
Man:- 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays equals to 104
days
Manager:- Thanks for that. If you remove 104 days
from 122 days, how many days do you now have?
Man:- 18 days.
Manager:- OK! I do give you 2 weeks sick leave
every year. Now remove That 14
days from the 18 days left. How many days do you
have remaining?
Man:- 4 days
Manager:- Do you work on New Year day?
Man:- No sir!
Manager:- Do you come to work on workers day?
Man:- No sir!
Manager:- So how many days are left?
Man:- 2 days sir!
Manager:- Do you come to work on the (National
holiday )?
Man:- No sir!

After 2 years of selfless service, a man realized
that he has not been promoted,
no transfer, no salary increase no commendation
and that the company is not doing any thing
about it. So he decided to walk up to his manager
one morning and after exchanging greetings,
he told his manager his observation.
The boss looked at him, laughed and asked him to
sit down saying; My friend, you
have not worked here for even one day. The man
was surprised to hear this, but the

Manager:- Thanks for that. If you remove 104 days
from 122 days, how many days do you now have?
Man:- 18 days.
Manager:- OK! I do give you 2 weeks sick leave

This is IT
well this is it.. my last exam paper for my 1st year in uni is over.. we always say 'time really flies' but ppl never keep tat in mind all the time bcos we r too busy n before we know it we'll be pondering over the past when we got a chance to do a pit-stop before we continue our 'race' again. when we think of the past, we'll laugh at the tears we shed n how silly we were back then but we'll also shed tears over the laughter n good times we had.. come to think of it i've been living in this for 20 years.. no longer in my teens.. the period of time when life was so simple.. it was all about goin to sch, do homework, playing n having fun with frens in sch n doin stupid stuff in camps.. then at the end of every year it's just about moving forward to another year of schooling.. we were never prepared to face the world when we leave our secondary school.. wat really makes things so difficult after secondary school are DECISIONS and CHOICES.. when we were young we used to wonder y we dun get to make choices n it's always following wat our parents say.. then when we grow up we get sick n tired of making decisions tat will usually be the turning point of our future.. things like choosing where to continue study.. wat to study.. should find job or not.. find place to stay.. wat modules to take.. and the list goes on until we drop dead.. lucky enuf we dun need to decide when we shld die.. die where.. wether to cremate or bury ourself haha.. things keep on changing man bcos the only thing CONSTANT in life is CHANGE
