Cowardism disease

something that i've been observing or better said, just realised lately.. the norm of society here in singapore is to be a coward.. kiasu, kiasee, and cowpeh cowboh.. well it is wrong for me to just apply this stereotype to the ppl in sg because this has become a reasonable norm all around the world but it's just that sg takes it to a higher level.. and for good or for bad, this is the irreversible side effect of how the "gahmen" made sg came to stand at where they are today

when i first came here for studies, i actually did not see much of this happening but then this fact became a lot more prominent when we come out to the working world. mainly, this difference is because we do not have anybody to boss us around during sch days.. yes we have a teacher but we are not that much accountable to them for everything we do.. but at work, everything we do is being observed and there are little room for mistakes or we'll get some angry faces shouting right at our faces.. and this is the biggest problem in singapore.. too little room for mistakes and like a local movie nicely done, "just follow law".

understand one thing, when there's too little space allowed for mistakes.. where every mistakes gets slammed right into your face.. there will then be the lack of courage and ppl become cowards.. and when ppl fear to try, there can be little growth. this is a form of social conditioning which is killing the human spirit. which is why singapore is surviving based on foreign talents.. because usually WE are the people who was spared from this kind of upbringing and we dare to go the distance.. sometimes even doing stupid things :D well that's for some of us.. some ppl are just inborn cowards.. maybe genetic? they should do some research to prove this haha

anyway, i just hope that there's not too many of us 'foreign' ppl that have adapted too well to singapore.. don't do this to yourself but of course i don't expect u to let go of your sanity and become like "Yes! man".. all u need is to develop some wisdom to differentiate the do's from the don'ts.. it won't be easy and u'll definitely get some harsh response in the beginning but like Nike says "Just Do It!!"

have u ever tried telling and proving your boss wrong? i know alot of ppl suggest you don't but like i said, those r just blardy cowards. let those ppl continue holding balls while u can start crushing balls. give it a try if the chance is there (eg. if u have idiotic bosses who r prone to be.. emm idiots?).. i do it sometimes, and i bet u gonna love the satisfaction from doing it but of cos know ur limits haha (economy now isn't exactly that good to find a replacement job :P). i think this is one thing that gets me ticking at work haha

call me a rebel :P wheee!!
